 Course Description: Welcome to 7th grade English, where we will explore a wide variety of literature as well as form effective writing skills that will help in every aspect of your life. We will study all genres of literature including: short stories, essays, poetry and novels. We will analyze the relevance of these works through lengthy discussions as well as comparing and contrasting various works. This class will require daily writing in journals, taking copious notes and writing essay responses. During the course of the year we will write an original short story and multiple original poems. Most homework will be generated from the reading of the text. There will also be a group project towards the end of the spring semester. That said, we will have fun. I believe work is never hard if you enjoy what you are doing. I am passionate about English and will strive to help every student realize how rewarding this class can be.
