Class Description IED: Introduction to Engineering Design™ (IED) is a high school level course that is appropriate for 9th or 10th grade students who are interested in learning about the engineering design process. The major focus of the IED course is to expose students to the design process, engineering standards, research and analysis, technical documentation, global and human impacts, communication methods, and teamwork. IED gives students the opportunity to develop skills and understanding of course concepts through activity-, project-, and problem-based (APPB) learning.  Students have the chance to earn college credit for this course through participating schools.

Class Description POE:   Principles of EngineeringTM is a course that helps students gain an understanding of the fields of engineering and engineering technology. Exploring various technology systems and manufacturing processes help students learn how engineers and technicians use math, science and technology in an engineering problem solving process to benefit people. The course also includes concerns about social and political consequences of technological change.

Students have the chance to earn college credit for this course through participating schools. Go to www.pltw.org for more information.
