Class Description: Students will articulate ideas, synthesize wroks, study vocabulary, and move through the steps of the writing process via various formats including the following: short reflections, journal entries, and poetry in their Writer's-Reader's Notebook.  Students will further develop reading fluency and comprehension with a continued emphasis on reading strategies and literary studies.  In this all-inclusive full year language arts class, the connection between reading and writing will be accentuated as our students move toward "reading like writers and writing like readers."

Pre-AP students will begin to grapple with literary analysis.  Students are required to handle additional reading and project assignments.  Being an independent reader and having advanced writing skills are expected in this course.

English daily students will receive additional time to work on improving reading comprehension and composition skills while completing the curriculum.
