Class Description: 7th Grade Language Arts is a daily class that focuses on stretching each student’s reading and writing skills.  Students will be required to read a variety of texts– modern fiction, classic fiction, non-fiction, short stories, periodicals, etc. They will also write  a variety of pieces that include commentaries, memoir, persuasive essays, poetry etc. Students will move through the writing process with short writing exercises that focus on the six traits of good writing. They are encouraged to find the type of writing that suits them best and employ those traits.  Evidence of comprehension will based on a high level of Bloom’s Taxonomy, which means they will need to justify their answers with adequate evidence.

Prep Periods- 2nd hour and 5th hour
