Class Description: Both Pre-AP 7th and 8th grade Pre-Algebra incorporate the Mastery Mathematics concept.  The goal of mastery mathematics is that students master the competencies or standards taught and tested.  The mastery program has been aligned with the 8th grade Arkansas Frameworks in order to help our students achievement proficiency in the 8th grade state mathematics curriculum.

Pre-AP students must maintain at least 75% the first quarter and 80% for the remaining quarters of the school year in order to be accepted into the Pre-AP Algebra program as an 8th grader and to remain in the 7th grade Pre-AP class. Students who do not maintain the required 75% or 80% for the first and/or second quarter will be moved into the regular curriculum before or at the end of the first semester. Qualifiers are 80% or higher on their Check Understandings (CU) or corrected/completed Reassessment Problems which corresponds to the CU competency such as CU3.2 corresponds to Unit 3 Competency 2.   

 Math Tutoring/Testing is offered every morning from 7:45-8:20 in room 304.
