Class Description:

Students will move through the steps of the writing process via small writing assignments, Writer’s Notebooks, and at least one published writing each nine week period.

Learners will also be looking critically at texts while considering use of literary elements and figurative language. All students will begin to grapple with the terminology necessary for literary criticism and critical reading.

 

We expect each student to improve his or her reading proficiency and written expression over the course of the year. Grammar and vocabulary will, of course, be integrated throughout the class.
