Class Description:

Seventh grade math emphasizes the attainment of proficiency using basic math skills with whole numbers, decimals, fractions, and integers.  Other topics include:  geometry and measurement, variables and simple equations, statistics and probability, and problem solving.
Class Expectations: 
·          Strive for success!  Math is no exception to the rule.  You are all very bright young men and women who can succeed in mathematics (and in anything else) with consistent practice, hard work, and perseverance.  Your commitment to always put forth your best effort will help you achieve!
·         Be prepared!  Each student should bring with them to class every day:  completed homework, paper, pencils, highlighter, red pens, and AGENDA.
·         Be Prompt!  Because we have so much to learn and so little time, it is imperative that you always be on time and ready to begin (all materials at seat and working on bell ringer). 
·         Practice makes perfect!  I expect you to do the homework if assigned.  Homework is graded based upon whether or not it is completed neatly and promptly. I go over all homework in class and students are given the opportunity to correct their mistakes.  All completed and corrected homework receives a grade of 100%.   Homework is a valuable study tool & guide when it comes time for the unit tests.  If you don’t practice, you can’t expect to do well on tests!
 
Criteria for Credit:  Students are expected to follow all rules for completing assignments in order to receive credit.  This includes:  standard paper size, work done in PENCIL only, ALL WORK SHOWN, answers are BOXED or highlighted, correct heading on paper, papers are neat and well-ordered. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Math Tutoring/Testing is offered every morning from 8:00-8:30 in Math hall.
