INSTRUCTIONAL PHILOSOPHY:

Students will be given challenging projects and assignments typical of scientists in their field of study.  High quality work is expected.  Classroom activities will include reading, research, projects, labs, and problem solving.  Major projects will be presented to the class.  Students will often work in teams, but will be expected to complete individual assignments in relation to the team’s work,  Assessment methods will include written exams, tests and quizzes; oral and written research reports; labs, homework, reading assignments; and projects.

EXPECTATIONS:

Everyone has the right to learn, therefore students should:

  •  Be respectful…to yourself, to others and to property.
  •  Be ready…to engage, to learn.
  •  Be responsible…for learning, for teaching.
  •  Always do your best work.  Every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it.  Autograph your work with  excellence.  Actively participate in class by asking questions and being ready to answer questions.
