Course Title:  English

Students will articulate ideas, synthesize works, study vocabulary, and move through the steps of the writing process via various formats including:  short reflections, journal entries, and poetry.  Students will further develop reading fluency with a continued emphasis on reading strategies.  In this all-inclusive full-year daily language arts class, the connection between reading and writing will be accentuated as we move our students toward “reading like writers and writing like readers.”

Course Title:  Pre-AP English

In addition to mastering the regular ELA 7th grade curriculum, Pre-AP students also will begin to grapple with the terminology vital to literary analysis  Students are required to handle additional reading and project assignments.  Being an independent reading and having advanced writing skills are expected in the full-year course.
