Welcome to Ms. Burke's 8th Grade Social Studies!

 Course Overview:

In 8th grade Social Studies, students will learn about map skills, culture, geography, and history while developing critical thinking skills necessary for success in the rest of their academic careers.  Throughout the year we will address the following topics:

If you would like to speak with me personally please call the LJHS office.  I am available for phone calls before or after school Monday-Thursday 8:00-8:20 or 3:35-400.  I will also be available Monday and Wednesday mornings untill 9:45. 

Tutoring:

 I will be available for tutoring before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 8:00 a.m.  Students are free to come see me if they need help understanding a concept, a place to study, or simply a place to get caught up on their Social Studies work.  I ask that students let me know a day in advance if they will be coming in. 

 Make Up Work: 

Refer to the calendar to retrieve students make up work.  Simply click on the day they were absent and print off the attachment.
